Pimlico Plumbers SEO Keyword Research

Pimlico Plumbers SEO Keyword Research

I’m targeting Pimlico’s SERPs on the Pimlico Plumbers Reviews article, they are likely to be some of the harder brand relevant UK plumbing SERPs to acquire since Pimlico is a well known UK brand.

Below is the top 50 Pimlico search phrases in Google UK. To target these SERPs I’d ideally create at least a dozen articles, realistically a lot more, but this is just a plumber SEO test, so we will see what we can achieve with one WordPress Post and a handful of WordPress Image Attachment Pages like the webpage you are reading now.

If this was more than an SEO test and I was say a competitor to Pimlico Plumbers and I wanted their SERPs, I’d break this keyword list down into sets of related phrases to target via individual webpages (WordPress Posts, since I use WordPress as a CMS). I’d also take into account other general Plumber SEO keywords, not just the Pimlico keywords.

For example these are related keyphrases:

  1. Pimlico Plumbers Reviews – 390
  2. Pimlico Plumbers Rates – 210
  3. Pimlico Plumbers Good or Bad – 70
  4. Trustpilot Pimlico Plumbers – 70
  5. Pimlico Plumbers Expensive – 40
  6. Pimlico Plumbers Prices – 40

These are all related to reviews, is Pimlico good or bad, Trustpilot is a well known review website, rates, expensive and prices are subjects covered in a review.

A competitor plumber could easily target these SERPs by comparing Pimlico to the competitor. Are Pimlico’s rates/prices more expensive vs the competitor? Does the competitor plumber have a better Trustpilot rating than Pimlico.

Conversely Pimlico could also create their own articles to ‘protect’ these SERPs. The Pimlico website has an advantage here, they don’t have to work half as hard as I’ll have to to gain these SERPs.

For example search Google for “Trustpilot Pimlico Plumbers” (70 searches a month: that could be 70 potential customers) and the second result is a really deep linked Blog post by Charlie Mullins with the title “Trustpilot – Contract Cancelled!!“.

To find that webpage on the Pimlico domain it requires at least 4 clicks from the homepage, below is the click trail from home.

  • Homepage: https://www.pimlicoplumbers.com/blog/
  • Main Blog Page: https://www.pimlicoplumbers.com/blog/
  • Blog Page 292: https://www.pimlicoplumbers.com/blog/292
  • Blog Page 290: https://www.pimlicoplumbers.com/blog/290
  • Blog Article: https://www.pimlicoplumbers.com/blog/trustpilot-contract-cancelled

4 clicks is deep content, and that was relatively easy to get to compared to Pimlico Blog Posts that’s not really old or recent (the Blog navigation system is terrible SEO wise). To get to a Blog post from 2015 takes about a dozen clicks, to get to 2016 Blog posts takes over 3 dozen clicks!!!

The “Trustpilot – Contract Cancelled!!” Blog article isn’t particularly good content SEO wise, it’s title tag isn’t targeted at the “Trustpilot Pimlico Plumbers” SERP per se, it’s Charlie Mullins having a rant about how bad review sites like Trustpilot are because of fake reviews and because of this Pimlico have cancelled their Trustpilot paid listings (accurate in August 2014, no clue if Pimlico have a paid Trustpilot account in 2020).

Remember when it comes to Google, no business owns a SERP, it’s ALL fair game, if I could I’d rank this test site for as many Pimlico SERPs as possible and feel no guilt: my only rule is honesty. My business is called SEO Gold, I can’t stop a competitor SEO business or marketing agency doing an SEO Gold Review or targeting my name (David Cameron Law). Though I’m a small business (one man band: self-employed for over 20 years), so probably not worth the effort.
